The Bering Land Bridge National Preserve is located on Alaska's Seward Peninsula. During the Pleistocene Ice Age, the sea level was about 300 feet lower due to the earth's water being locked up in colossal ice masses. This reduction in water exposed a land mass between Siberia and the Western shores of Alaska that humans used to populate the Americas from Siberia.
