Baird Mountains

Named after a Smithsonian Institute Secretary, the Baird Mountains are located about 60 miles east of the village of Kotzebue. They span between the Noatak and Kobuk Rivers of the Western Brooks Range and reach from 1,000 to 4,500 feet in elevation. They are situated just above the Arctic Circle.
