Alaska is defined mainly by the giant mountain ranges that span the state in all directions. These ranges alter weather and climate patterns and funnel the water that forms the many rivers. The Brooks Range, Alaska Range, Chugach, Kenai, and Aleutian Range, are just a few of the many. It is also home to North America's tallest mountain, Denali.
