Wildflowers

Although Alaska has a short summer season, wildflowers thrive under the near-constant sunlight. Mountain meadows host diverse species with numerous variations in color and blossom type. Fireweed is among the most ubiquitous and frequently observed since it blooms in great fields along many of the state's roadways.
