The moose is one of Alaska's wilderness icons. Although large and ungainly, they are built perfectly for traveling across the tundra and taiga. They inhabit most of Alaska and can grow to a massive size of 1600 pounds. The animal is distinctive, with long legs, a large body, a huge nose, and massive antlers on the bulls.
