Nome

Nome is a vital hub for Northwest Alaska, located on the edge of the Bering Sea on the Seward Peninsula. The town is rich in Alaska's gold mining history. In 1899 the population swelled from a handful to 28,000 and now hovers around 3,500. The region has 350 miles of roads open from mid-May through October.
